RESEARCH: DIGITAL MATTERS
Various Media | Ongoing
Digital Matters is an ongoing research into the various methodologies in translating digital information to the physical world and vice versa. In several projects we have developed prototypes, models and art installations that intersect the boundaries between the two.
With the Virtual Paper project (2015), as seen in the images above, our goal was to intuitively control virtual matter by the means of delicate hand gestures, as one would in real life. The purpose of this research is to prospect potential applications for industry and the creative sector, and provide support to third parties in creating challenging designs.
The project was nominated for the New Material Award provided by Het Nieuwe Instituut in the Netherlands and was funded by Gelderland Valoriseert.
